Rookie Cop On all Fours

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
For the first time in more than a decade, Benton will have a drug dog working the streets. Rudy is an 18-month-old German Shepherd who`s been in training for four weeks. He`s drilled with real meth and pot and cocaine and is rewarded with his favorite toy when he finds drugs. His partner-to-be and his trainers say Rudy is all business. He`ll go without food, water and forego playtime because he`s so focused on the job. Rudy and his partner, Officer Scott Fritz, will have their "final exams" September 8th through the 12th. Representatives from the National Detector Dog Association will be on hand to certify the team.
