The Ashland Specialty Chemical Plant in Jacksonville will be conducting an emergency drill Wednesday at 8:30 a.m. The drill is expected to last two hours at the plant on North Redmond Road. The plant`s evacuation alarm will be sounded, although NO actual chemicals will be involved in the drill. The drill is intended to test the coordination of plant workers and local agencies that would respond in the event of a chemical emergency. Several area law enforcement agencies will participate, as well as Rebsamen Hospital and the Arkansas Department of Emergency Management.
