A prosecutor Monday has charged two women with capital murder for the death of an elderly woman in a nursing home. The suspects worked at the home and are accused of beating the woman with brass knuckles. 81-year-old Willie Mae Ryan died Thursday after she was taken off a ventilator at a Pine Bluff hospital. Dallas County Prosecutor Jamie Pratt announced he has charged nursing assistants 17-year-old Shermika Rainey and 44-year-old Gayla Wilson in the beating. Pratt said Ryan was beaten in her bed; police said one person held the woman down while the other administered the beating. Rainey and Wilson are to make a court appearance Wednesday for arraignment.
