A man accused of hacking into several
companies` computer systems -- including Acxiom -- is awaiting a
court hearing in Ohio.
Daniel Baas is being held in Cincinnati on 100-thousand dollars
bond on four counts of unauthorized use of property. He is 24 years
old.
One of the charges accuses Baas of using encrypted passwords to
illegally obtain information from Acxiom, one of the world`s
largest database companies.
His attorney, Timothy Smith of Cincinnati, says Baas plans to
plead innocent.
A police report states that Baas illegally entered the Little
Rock-based company`s servers on December 10th.
Baas has been in police custody since he was arrested August
first on two charges that he stole information from his former
employer, Market Intelligence Group. He was indicted Friday on
charges that he hacked into that company`s computers last August
and in April.
Acxiom said last week that a computer hacker gained access to
its private files and was able to download sensitive information
about some of its clients` customers.
