Koppers Industries Not a Health Hazard

By: Import User
Updated: January 7, 2009
There`s new information about allegations that a North Little Rock plant made nearby residents sick. A federal study shows the plant does not create a health hazard to those around it. The U.S. Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry and the Arkansas Department of Health started investigating Koppers Industries in 1998 after accusations that the plant caused respiratory illnesses or cancer. The draft report from this investigation will be open to public comment through September, after which the board will review those comments and finalize the study.
