Here`s the full statement from Mayor Rick Holland on the matter: "Today, I regret to announce I have terminated John Chambers as the city of Benton police chief. This decision comes after careful consideration and is based on the differences between Chief Chambers` leadership style and my vision for the leadership of the Benton Police Department. I apprecioate the service Chief Chambers has provided during some difficult times for the city of Benton and wish him well in his future endeavors. A search for a new chief is now underway. do not have a timetable for filling the position, but we will work hard to complete this task as soon as possible.
