The North Little Rock Police Department Narcotics Unit has been working to reduce the number of Meth Labs in their community. A key element of the success of the program has been the mo nitoring of local retailers who sell components used in the manufacturing process.
Investigators have received information that several stores in North Little Rock were selling over the limit of ephedrine or pseudoephedrine or were selling the products to minors.
City Attorney Paul Suskie filed civil lawsuits against the Metro Food Mart on Highway 161 and the Citgo Pony Gas Station on Crystal Hill Road.
"I hope it will make it more difficult for the meth cook and send a message to businesses that you face criminal charges but civil liability for what you do," says city attorney Paul Suskie.
