University And Markham Neighborhood Gets New Development

The area around University Avenue and Markham Street will soon be home to several new upscale shops. The city board approved the development this week. Right now, the area is home to rental properties and older offices. City planners have been working to redevelop the neighborhood, and are worried about the decline of University Mall, which has lost half its value in the past decade.
