The evangelical Christian broadcaster who predicted the Rapture would happen last weekend is setting a new date for doomsday.

Harold Camping told his followers last night he miscalculated when he said Jesus Christ would take them to heaven on May 21st.

The 89-year-old now claims the apocalyptic event will happen October 21st.

Camping had launched a doomsday countdown that led some of his followers to spend all their money expecting to be sent to heaven on Saturday.

It was the third time he had incorrectly predicted the date of the so-called "Judgement Day."
