Hundreds of kids crossed the finish line at the Little Rockers Marathon Saturday.

The young racers brought furious energy to the race, tearing through the course and to the crowd cheering at the end.

A race spokesperson says 1,625 kids ran Saturday. They came from seven counties, and one group came all the way from Missouri.

The race actually started several weeks ago. The kids diligently logged the distances they had run, logging 25.2 miles before the race. At the end of their mile run Saturday, the kids had run a complete marathon.

Kids ages seven to twelve were allowed to participate. Everyone that finished received a medal.
