California Teacher Celebrates 1/11/11 with Story Contest

Today is 1/11/11, and one California high school teacher wants to celebrate the unique date with a story contest.
Ron Gordon has proclaimed today "Ones Upon a Day," and he's encouraging everyone to write a story or poem that starts out with that line.
The top eleven entries will win the grand prize of eleven dollars and eleven cents.

Ones upon a day in a time long, long ago
There was peace and freedom in this land
What happened? I want to know,
where did it all go
Can we gain this peace and freedom once again?
It’s up to us, you see.
Yes, that means you and me
If we all come together and make a stand
I’m sure we all agree, we must keep our country free
So all can enjoy the beauty of our land.

We’ll experience peace and freedom once again
For as we came together, in unity and love
We knew we’d never let it happen again!
