In other news, the president of Philander Smith College, Dr. Walter Kimbrough, is featured in Ebony Magazine's Power 100 list. And he's in pretty good company--President Obama and Tyler Perry are also in the Top 100.

Ebony's Power 100 list is made up of people the magazine considers do-ers making an impact in their field and working to benefit African Americans.

Ebony praised Dr. Kimbrough for increasing graduation rates and for his "Bless the Mic" series that brings in speakers from all over the nation.

Dr. Walter Kimbrough said, "It's a great honor because this list has been around decades and these are viewed as the thought leaders particularly for Black America so to be on that list is very humbling."

Dr. Kimbrough was also featured in the October, November Issue of Garden & Gun magazine that focuses on southern living.  He was featured as one of five movers and shakers in the city of Little Rock. He has served as president since 2004. At 43 years old, he's one of the youngest college presidents in the country.
