It's time for students to start thinking about going back to school and if you're taking a trip to college, there are plenty of vaccinations.

you need to make sure you receive. Tonight we have Candace Welcher from the Univesity of Central Arkansas in Conway, to tell you which vaccinations you need and why.

Required vaccinations: 

Measles, mumps & rubella
Meningococcal meningitis

Recommended vaccinations:

Hepatitis A
Hepatitis B
Influenza
Tetanus/Diptheria/Pertussis
Gardasil (girls & boys 12-26)
 

 The Arkansas Department of Health has most of the required shots for free if you are 19 years of age or younger. The meningitis vaccine is free for college freshmen and other vaccines are available on a sliding fee scale. A private health care physican can order administer vaccinations as well
