Some 30-thousand prayer events are expected to be held across the country today in honor of the National Day of Prayer.

In Little Rock, a ceremony will be held at the State Capitol at noon.

The theme for this year's event is "Prayer, For Such a Time as This."

Events will kick off this morning with a national observance in Washington, DC capital.

There are over 800 proclamations calling for prayer from the state and the federal levels.

The National Day of Prayer Task Force will hold its main service at a House of Representatives office building.
