Big First Week for Arkansas Lottery

The Arkansas Scholarship Lottery is now one week old, and sales totals released today reveal a big first week for ticket sales.

Lottery officials say estimated ticket sales added up to $9,866,000, while actual sales totaled $8,980,000. Estimated prizes were tallied to $6,499,000.

But the winning doesn't stop there, lottery officials report that 151,000 tickets have been registered for second chance prizes.

Another 21,000 players have signed up for the Club, to collect prize points, and more than 2,000,000 prize points  good for merchandise such as hats, t-shirts, etc., have been awarded.

On October 20th, two new instant/scratch-off tickets will join the four others already on sale.

By Halloween (October 31st), Arkansans will be able to buy Powerball tickets, and come December 14th, state draw game tickets will go on sale.
