Searcy Celebrates at Block Party

Tuesday night's Heart of Searcy Back to School Block Party is being called a huge success.

Organizers say there were more than 200 people in attendance Tuesday evening and all had games to play.

The winners of the 3-on-3 basketball tournament received trophies. There were bounce houses and carnival games for the little ones and bingo and face painting for the kids at heart.

The Searcy Fire Department provided a water game for the children and there were more than enough hot dogs, hamburgers, snow cones, and cotton candy to go around.

The Searcy Police Department thanks everyone who participated, donated, or attended the event to make it a success and bring the community closer together.

The Block Party was held at the parking lot of the St. Mary’s CME Church at the intersection of Park and Sowell and is an annual event.
