The first day of school is Wednesday for many students all across the state.

In Bryant, the police department wants the public to know it will enforce its no tolerance rule to get drivers back in the habit of watching for children and school buses.

The Bryant P.D. issued the following news release on the policy today:

"Bryant Police officers have strict orders to observe, detect and enforce all traffic violations in and around all school zones with a no tolerance rule in place.

Safety should be on everyone's mind this week especially Wednesday morning, the first day of school.

Chief Coffman expressed the goal here is to heighten everyone's attention that operates a motor vehicle in and around school zones. If drivers are observing the rules of the road, we hope to keep everyone safe this year. Drivers should exercise patience and be vigilant for children not watching for moving vehicles."
