Arkansas Lottery Commission Selects Scratch-off Vendor

A Georgia company will supply the Arkansas State Lottery  with scratch off tickets.

Today the Lottery Commission selected Scientific Games Incorporated out of two other companies.

They had the lowest cost of the three companies, at $1.75-percent of all sales.

They said they could start selling tickets by October 1st, but Lottery Director Ernie Passailaigue said he will talk to them about starting earlier on September 28th.

The commission's vice chair expressed frustrations about perceived delays with the legislative oversight committee. "I was hoping they would move as quickly as we have because we have been trying very very hard to move fast and get more money for scholarships," said Dianne Lamberth.

Also today, the commission awarded an advertising contract to a local company, The Communications Group.

The Legislative Oversight Committee must approve both contracts.
