Several management positions have been filled with the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery.

That's the word from the Lottery Commission meeting held this afternoon on the road in Beebe.

The panel gathered at ASU-Beebe's Student Center to hear the latest from Lottery Director Ernie Passailaigue.

He told them that two of the management jobs already filled are Sales Director and IT Gaming Director. The gaming director is David Barden from New York. Passailaigue says other management positions have been filled so far by Arkansans.

Passailaigue also responded to recent criticism about high salaries for lottery employees from Governor Beebe. Passailaigue says the salaries should compare to the private sector not the public sector.

Regarding the $100,000+ salary for recently hired Lottery Security Director Lance Huey, Passailaigue said "We sell security and integrity."

There are now more than 30 other job openings listed on the lottery website. Ernestine Middleton, the Vice-President of Operations told the commission today they are working sun up to sun down going through every application.
