The City of Little Rock, Little Rock Workforce Investment Board, and Little Rock Regional Chamber of Commerce will announce a partnership with New Futures for Youth to provide 700 jobs for area youth during the summer of 2009. The Summer Youth Employment program offers not only employment to area youths, but also provides them with mentoring, life-skills, and teaches them how to apply for jobs.
Each year, there are more youths interested in the program than slots available. This year the City and the Chamber are partnering to raise the awareness within the corporate community and citizenry as a whole.
Funding is secured for the positions, but sites are still needed to place the youth workers. This is at no cost for the employer. If interested just contact the Little Rock Regional Chamber of Commerce.
