Arkansas is just a step away from having its own statewide lottery.

Both the House and Senate of the Arkansas Legislature gave final approval Monday to bills governing how the lottery will be run and where the profits will go.

The next stop for the legislation is Governor Beebe's desk.

The bills provide for a nine-member commission to oversee operations and earmarks net proceeds from the various lottery games to fund scholarships.
