Puffy French Toast Casserole

Puffy French Toast Casserole
 
1 loaf French bread cut into ½ inch cubes
8 each eggs
2 cups milk
½ cup maple flavored pancake syrup
1 teaspoon cinnamon
½ cup sugar
1 small bag chopped pecan pieces
1 tablespoon vanilla flavoring
Powdered sugar
 
In a casserole dish place cut up French bread.  In a mixing bowl place sugar and cinnamon.  Mix together.  Next add the eggs.  Add milk, vanilla, and beat well.
Pour mixture over bread cubes and press down.  Cover and let set for 30 minutes. Top with pecans.  Bake at 350 degrees for 20-30 minutes or until firm.  Dust with powdered sugar and serve.
