A 26-year-old Pentacostal pastor is
slated to head the White House office that handles faith-based initiatives.
"The New York Times"
reports that Joshua DuBois, who headed religious outreach for the Obama
campaign, has been tapped to direct the agency that hands out grants to
religious organizations.
DuBois formerly worked on Capitol
Hill as part of a Democratic outreach to evangelical Christians.
During the campaign, he threw house parties
for religious voters around the country to discuss Obama's faith.
One of the controversial issues
facing the revamped and renamed Council for Faith-Based and Neighborhood
Partnerships is a Bush administration rule.
It allows religious groups that
receive federal grants to refuse to hire those who don't share their faith.
President Obama promised in his
campaign to overturn that policy.
