12:45 p.m. - "National Geographic" Taking on Video Games

 "National Geographic" is jumping into the video game industry.

The time-honored educational glossy has announced the creation of National Geographic Games through its for-profit division, National Geographic Ventures.

The first game, "Herod's Lost Tomb," is available as a free download for PC, Mac and the iPhone.

In the future, National Geographic Games will develop games for Nintendo Wii, Playstation 3 and handheld devices.
