8:00 a.m. - Singer Britney Spears Will Go to Trial

By: RNS
Updated: October 9, 2008
Pop star Britney Spears has an October 15th date in court in her driving without a license case.

"People" magazine reports the Spears rejected a plea offer of a year's probation and a 150-dollar fine in a Los Angeles court hearing yesterday.

The trial stems from a 2007 fender-bender incident in Los Angeles.

Spears' attorney J. Michael Flanagan has long maintained his client has been targeted because of her celebrity status and says he will only consider a lesser infraction.
