A public memorial service is today in Tennessee for soul music legend Isaac Hayes.

The service will be held Monday morning at 11 o'clock at Hope Presbyterian Church in Cordova, Tennessee, outside Memphis.

Hayes died August 10 following a stroke, less than two weeks before his 66th birthday.

Hayes' family is requesting that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Stax Museum Children's Music Academy in Memphis.

Surviving family members include his wife, Adjowa Hayes, eleven children, and 14 grandchildren.

The family issued a statement last week thanking friends, colleagues, and fans for their outpouring of support and love.
