The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) College of Pharmacy will hold its second summer camp for high school students June 15-20. The deadline for applications is March 21.

The camp introduces pharmacy-related career and educational opportunities at UAMS to students and provides hands-on training in pharmacy practice skills, lectures by UAMS faculty and area pharmacists and field trips to pharmacies. Social and cultural activities also factor in to the experience for students.

Camp tuition is $400 and includes housing in UAMS residence halls, all meals, camp instruction materials, laboratory exercise supplies, and field trip transportation expenses. Some stipends are available to students who require tuition assistance.

Applications are available online at www.uams.edu/cop or by calling (501) 686-5557.

For more information contact Eddie Dunn, M.D., pharmacy camp coordinator, at (501) 686-8929, e-mail ebdunn@uams.edu, or write to: UAMS College of Pharmacy, Pharmacy Summer Camp, 4301 W. Markham St., #522, Little Rock, AR 72205.
