Where Happiness Likes to Hang Out

Did you know happiness may hang out in a certain part of your brain? Research shows that positive emotions like happiness are controlled by the left pre-frontal cortex -- or just behind your forehead on the left side. Similarly, the pioneering study found that inhibiting, negative emotions may be controlled by the right side. People with high activity on the left side of their brain generally describe themselves as happy and positive people more than people with increased activity on the right side.
