Study Says Heart Patients Not Following Orders

healthyA healthy diet and exercise are vital for patients with heart disease -- but a new study shows many are ignoring doctor's orders. Researchers studied the dietary habits of a group of people diagnosed with heart disease. 12% of participants ate the daily recommended amount of vegetables, a year after they were diagnosed. Fewer people got the recommended daily amount of fruit. Researchers say doctors should recommend dietary counseling to heart patients, in addition to exercise.
