LOWELL, AR -- A Lowell woman will spend the next eight years in jail after police say she poisoned her mother's food with floor polish last summer.

Police say 24-year-old Leah Stevens told them she wanted to get back at her mother after being kicked out of her home last summer.

After the mother received a tip from another sibling, she brought a Lowell police officer to her house where they found open containers of food and bleach.

Stevens was found guilty for a criminal mischief misdemeanor and a class C felony for attempted domestic battery.

A judge sentenced her to eight years in jail for the crime last week.
