The 2013 Wye Mountain Daffodil Festival is kicking off on Saturday.

It's the 34th year for the event west of Roland in western Pulaski County.

Festival dates are March 9 & 10 and March 16 & 17. The festival hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day.

Wye Mountain has a 7-acre field of daffodils with more than 30 varieties of the flowers.

The field is open all the time but during festival activities, there will be arts & crafts, BBQ, brownies, other food concessions and soft drinks.

The daffodil field is managed by Wye United Methodist Church. (Note: Service animals are the only ones that are permitted into the field).

Admission to the festival is free but donations are welcomed and will go to church.
