BRYANT, Ark. -- Bryant Police arrested a man on Tuesday for an argument that ended with a gunshot.

Officers responded to a call at Hixon's Mobile Homes on Friday, where they found 37-year-old George Hinson suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper leg.

According to police, Hinson said he went to his girlfriend's home because he was concerned about her. After kicking in the door to the residence, Hinson told police he got into an argument with 34-year-old Andrew Aguilar.

Witnesses told police they heard a gunshot as the two men fought on the porch, and Hinson fell to the ground and Aguilar fled the scene.

Hinson was taken to Baptist Hospital where he has since been released.

Bryant investigators obtained an arrest warrant for Aguilar, and located him at his residence in Alexander where he was taken into custody on Tuesday.

Aguilar is charged with first-degree battery and carrying a prohibited weapon.

He is currently in the Saline County Jail awaiting bond hearing.
