Dates that Don't Break the Bank
We live in the natural state, thus
there are tons of free places to go and things to do for free or little
money. Most cities and towns are near a state or national park. You can
plan a picnic or just a romantic walk in the woods. Many of the parks
in Arkansas have free or inexpensive seasonal events.
In places such as the Little Rock River Market and Downtown Hot Springs you can spend a day window shopping and enjoying nice local scenery.
Instead of doing dinner and a movie
do lunch and a matinee or go to a discount cinema. Instead of a full
meal out before the movie get coffee or ice cream after the movie. This
gives you a chance to talk about what you saw. You could, also, make a
nice home cooked meal and rent a movie.
Visit a local museum or historical site. Museum's are often rather inexpensive and viewing and discussing art or history can be a great way to get to know someone better.
Enjoy a simple night at home talking over some music or even a board game. Have some snacks (sweet and salty) handy and something warn and soothing like hot chocolate or tea to drink.
Check your local bookstores or library for free poetry readings. Grab some coffee and dessert afterwards and chat.
See a local band. You can usually find a cluster of local bands playing for about the price of a matinee or less. Drink
water instead of alcohol. You will save money and probably get to know
the person you are with a little better. Many venues in the area have
bar food or appetizers that are reasonably priced which are just as
filling as dinner.
Do something with a since of humor like going roller skating or bowling. Both reasonable and youthful things you can do and if you are not particularly good that sometimes makes it more fun.
Read a book together(read aloud to each other). Set aside a couple of hours each week to read a book together and discuss it.
