The Little Rock Police Department is investigating an early morning shooting on the city's west side.

It happened near Breckenridge Drive and Rodney Parham Road shortly after midnight.

Police say they were called to a McDonald's restaurant where an employee had let the bleeding victim inside.

When officers arrived they found Malcolm Medley, 20, of Little Rock, laying on the floor. Spots of blood were noted outside and inside the door, police said.

Medley told officers he had been dropped off earlier at a nearby movie theater and was walking to McDonald's when he was shot by someone in a passing car. Medley said he did not see the vehicle or a suspect but that he then walked to the restaurant for help.

Medley was treated for a gunshot wound to the arm, just below the elbow, which police say was not life-threatening.

A witness told police they saw the injured man get out of a vehicle in the restaurant's parking lot.
