Benton's Police Chief and Pulaski County's Sheriff teamed up with the Financial Crimes Task Force to seize money gained illegally.
In return for their help, the Internal Revenue Service and East Arkansas' District Attorney presented both departments with checks of about $100,000 a piece.
"When you identify the criminal, you seize the assets of the criminal, you convert those assets into useful tools that benefit the public," said Pulaski County Sheriff Doc Holladay.
Pulaski County used the money to purchase a crime scene van.
