Texarkana Community College's Board of Trustees voted unanimously to increase the school's tuition and fees.

Now in-district students will see a hike of about $29, while those out of district, like students from Arkansas, will see almost a $90 increase.

School officials say $475,000 will be added to next year's budget as a result, but students have mixed opinions about the matter.

"I hope it does good things for the school, improve the school, you know, in the areas that need improving the most, but so the students can also see their money is going to good use that do have to pay out of pocket," says out-of-state student Shardell Torrence.

The tuition increase will go into effect for the 2013-2014 school year.
