Elementary Educators Attend 'Bully-Proofing' Seminar

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. -- Disciplinary reports in the Little Rock School District are a clear indicator of discipline problems, but there are also signs that students are letting someone know if they are being bullied.

On Tuesday, LRSD elementary teachers and administrators were at the Embassy Suites in Little Rock, learning how to help bullied students fight back in a positive way.

Sopris, a group out of Dallas, hosted the two-day "Bully-Proofing" series, in which educators learn what signs to look for, ways to respond and how to deal with bullying problems.

One counselor says it doesn't just happen face to face.

"I deal with cyber bullying with my elementary children at Meadowcliff," says Jamie Kuhn. "We do bullying workshops, bullying lessons; I talk to them about my children. A lot of these children already have cellphones, they have Facebooks."

On Wednesday, secondary educators will attend the class.
