Representative: Open Carry Bill Fails in Arkansas House

The Arkansas Open Carry bill has failed to leave a state House committee, according to Representative David Meeks (R) of Conway.

Rep. Meeks posted the following on his Facebook page around 11:30 Tuesday morning:

"Arkansas Open Carry bill fails by a 9-8 vote. It needed 11 votes to get out of committee. All 8 Republicans plus Democrat John Baine voted for it."
