SAU Stolen Horses Trial Moved to El Dorado

By: KARK 4 News
Updated: February 25, 2013
The woman accused of stealing five horses from Southern Arkansas University will face trial in El Dorado instead of Magnolia.

Wendi Cox's trial has been moved from Magnolia to El Dorado after her attorney thought she wouldn't be able to get a fair trial in the same city as the university.

Cox is charged with theft of property over $5,000 and theft of property over $25,000 in connection with the November 2011 theft of five horses from Southern Arkansas University's Rodeo Team.

Four of the five horses were found by the rodeo coach and a team member, but one of the horses was found dead.

Cox's trial is set to begin on March 26.
