WILMAR, AR - A South Arkansas man has been arrested for what authorities describe as a violent attack on his wife.

The Drew County Sheriff's Office (DCSO) says Jeremy Carter, 42, of Wilmar, is facing five felony charges and a misdemeanor in the Wednesday night incident.

The DCSO says Carter fired gunshots around a home his wife was visiting before trying to stab the homeowner when he forced his way into the home.

Carter then allegedly grabbed Christie Carter by the throat and slammed her head against a wall while choking her.
