Pine Bluff Could Make Fire, Police Chiefs Live in the City

By: KARK 4 News

The City of Pine Bluff is considering an ordinance to settle residency questions for city positions, namely the fire and police chief.

City council members have been at odds over the issue after the mayor's decision to hire an interim police chief who does not live in the city after firing the former police chief.

The ordinance would require fire and police chiefs to live in the city, while only affecting other department heads if they were hired after the ordinance goes into effect.
