EL DORADO, AR - The El Dorado Water Commission has presented the city council with a plan to address complaints about its poor customer service.
The plan of action includes implementing a recording of customer service calls, providing a customer survey at the end of the call, and training customer service representatives.
The commission will also utilize the expertise of a local businessman who has experience in customer service and will conduct a comprehensive study of the El Dorado Water Utilities customer service.
Mayor Frank Hash explains why the council will hold off on abolishing the commission.
"I think the council has recommended the real positive steps that the water and sewer commission has taken to both identify the problems and hopefully come up with good solutions to the problems so we're not wanting to throw anybody out if it's not necessary," he says.
The council will hear from the water commission after 90 days to see if they have made any improvements before deciding whether or not to abolish them.
