A Fort Smith teenager is behind bars facing a first-degree murder charge.

Police arrested 19-year-old Dustin Michael Trowbridge early Thursday morning.

According to investigators, the teen shot and killed his aunt around midnight after an argument in her home.

They say he then stole a car and fled the scene, but officers managed to track him down a short while later.

Police say Trowbridge had been living on and off with his aunt, 25-year-old Rita Anderson and her family.

According to a police report, Anderson's boyfriend and her two young children were in the home at the time of the shooting.

Trowbridge is now in the Sebastian County Jail on no bond.
