That's just what one group is doing in NWA and nationwide.
Watch D.O.G.S. is a group of dad's who take off a day of work and go into the classroom to spend time with their children.
Watch D.O.G.S., Dad's of Great Students, was featured this week on NBC's Today Show (click here to watch).
Executive director, Eric Snow says he's glad to show off the group's Arkansas roots.
"I'm very proud when I go out and speak around the country. I tell 'em right away that this is an Arkansas product so we're proud of that. We're also proud of being able to share that with the country and realize that a school in Northwest Arkansas is very much like a school in Texas or Oregon or California or Nevada," Snow says.
More and more schools around the nation - 2,700 to be exact - are finding fulfillment in having father's in the classroom.
"We found that many schools believe that having the watchdogs program in their schools is a great response," says Snow.
