$30,000 Cash Seized in Arrest of Faulkner County Business Owner on Drug Charges

A man who owns businesses in Damascus and Greenbrier has been
arrested after being accused of selling "bath salts" and "K-2."
Amarjit Singh, 26, of Damascus, was picked up Thursday afternoon by the Faulkner County Sheriff's Office (FCSO).
The FCSO says search warrants presented at businesses owned by Singh in Greenbrier (Sinclair Gas Station) and Damascus (Main Street Mercantile) led to the discovery of the illegal substances (121 packages of K-2, 56 packages of bath salts).
Deputies also seized more than $30,000 in cash, 128 assorted pills, and one semi-automatic handgun.
Singh was charged with two felonies of Possession with Purpose to Deliver.
He was taken to the Faulkner County Detention Center, paid $15,000 bond and was released a short time later.
The Arkansas State Police, Arkansas Highway Police, Greenbrier Police Department and Damascus Police Department, assisted the FCSO in the execution of the search warrants.
The search warrants were the result of a 3-month investigation by the FCSO Narcotics Division into the illegal sale of bath salts and K-2.
Bath salts: the informal "street name" for a family of designer drugs often containing substituted cathinones, which have effects similar to amphetamine and cocaine. The white crystals resemble legal bathing products like epsom salts, and are called bath salts, but chemically have nothing to do with actual bath salts.
K2: natural herbs sprayed with synthetic chemicals that, when consumed are reported to mimic the effects of marijuana.
