The bill was before the House Judiciary Committee on Tuesday, and the committee made a "Do Pass" recommendation with no vocal opposition to the measure.
The bill is a revamping of the state's current trafficking law, which has placed it low in national rankings on dealing with trafficking issues.
The new law includes stiffer penalties for traffickers during prosecution and more resources for victims.
