Remembrance Event For WWII Chaplains

It's the 70th anniversary of the sinking of the USS Dorchester during World War II in the Atlantic, sunk by a German torpedo.

Over 600 people died on that submarine but there would have been even more fatalities had it not been for the four chaplains on-board who tended to wounded and frightened people then, ultimately, gave their life vests to other men losing their lives at sea.

"The significance is the tremendous price they paid," said Retired Major General Don Morrow. "So four other sailors could survive."

The four chaplains were given the purple heart after the accident.
