David Goins

Updated: April 4, 2013

David is an award-winning general assignment reporter who joined us in February 2005 as a reporter covering stories in Little Rock and surrounding counties. In that time, he's been in every corner of the state covering the biggest stories. David has been recognized for his work, receiving the prestigious RTNDA Edward R. Murrow award in 2007 for continuing coverage of the disappearance of a Pine Bluff teenager. The Arkansas Associated Press Broadcasters Association also recognized him for continuing coverage in 2006.

David came to Little Rock from Springfield, Missouri, where he served as the lead crime and courts reporter for the ABC affiliate. His two and a half years in Springfield gave him the opportunity to cover everything from capital murder trials to presidential debates.

David grew up in Houston, Texas and made Central Texas a second home in college, graduating from Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History and Mass Communication. His first chance to see a newsroom in action was at the NBC affiliate in Austin, interning in the news and sports departments.

Away from the camera, David enjoys playing basketball, reading, listening to music, watching live music and just hanging out in Little Rock. He's a huge Houston sports fan and cheers for the Astros, Rockets & Texans year round.
