Lisa Academy Science Fair

Some middle school students at Lisa Academy in Sherwood showing off their science projects today.

6th, 7th and 8th graders presented their projects to 15 different judges.

Students have been working on the projects since the beginning of the year.

They are being judged on four major areas -- experiment - research paper - display board and oral presentation.

"I love taking pictures, I love social network and Instagram. I wanted to see if my viewers or followers on instagram, would see a change in the picture if you added a filter, " said 8th grader Lauren King.

The Science Fair Winners:

In Chemistry De'Undre Jackson.

Computer and Mathematics, Yanya Suid.

Engineering, Joshua Phifer.

Health Science, Jonathan Dabrowsk.

Human and Animal Behavior, Nadia Guy-Okonji.

Physics and Astronomy, Wil Russel.

Plant and Environmental, Madison Tubbe.

Over all Winner, Jonathan Drabrowski.

Mayor Virgina Hillman of Sherwood was the keynote speaker on the importance of STEM in schools and to give out awards to students.
