Conway Deputy Chases Suspect into Lake, Carries Him to Shore

A Conway man is behind bars after fighting with an officer in the Craig D. Campbell Lake Conway Reservoir.
According to the Faulkner County Sheriff's Office, 21-year-old Ricky Rashad McClure was in a car that was pulled over at Foothills Drive and Vine Road around 4:00 Thursday afternoon.
After checking his information, the deputy was informed that McClure was wanted for probation revocation, and as he returned to the car, McClure ran into the lake in an attempt to escape.
The deputy chased McClure into the water, and after a five-minute struggle, was able to handcuff the suspect.
Sheriff's officials say the deputy then carried McClure on his shoulders to the water, where they both collapsed.
Another deputy arrived and called for first responders, who took McClure and the arresting deputy to the Conway Regional Medical Center where they were both treated for hypothermia and released.
McClure will be charged with fleeing and probation revocation.
